Baños de Moctezuma: testigo del tiempo

Construido en el siglo XV por orden de Nezahualcóyotl, el llamado Baño de Moctezuma, en la primera sección del bosque de Chapultepec, era un sitio destinado al placer. Servía para almacenar agua y para la crianza de peces exóticos. También dicen que era utilizado para bañarse y que después de la conquista fue usado con ese fin por varios personajes históricos como Hernán Cortés y La Malinche, el emperador Maximiliano de Habsburgo y su esposa la emperatriz Carlota de Bélgica o el dictador Porfirio Díaz, sí, aquel que duró en el poder 30 años y que la Revolución Mexicana pudo remover.
El agua de manantial que llenaba las piscinas del Baño de Moctezuma provenía del "Cerro del Chapulín" y forma parte del sistema de acueductos que integraban el abasto del vital líquido en Tenochtitlán y que seguramente en otro post te mostraré.

Según cuentan, Moctezuma, guardó en ese lugar algunos tesoros y aunque nunca nadie dio con ellos aún perdura la leyenda. Lo que sí se encontró fueron algunas piezas arqueológicas alusivas al agua como una figura del dios de la lluvia Tláloc,
Puedes visitar este sitio, que en el pasado era un lugar reservado a los tlatoanis mexicas, de martes a domingo de 8 a 7 horas.

Al pie del cerro donde esta construido el Castillo de Chapultepec

Excelente

Sección I del Bosque de Chapultepec, se encuentra el lugar donde los emperadores aztecas tomaban sus baños de aguas termales. Interesante pero hasta ahi.
