Herencia del pasado

Excelente

Literalmente "Corte Real" o "King´s Court" pero a la escocesa, este denominativo al igual que wynd debe ser traducido como callejón o calleja. En este caso, es uno de los ejemplos más representativos de la estructura que tenía el centro de Falkirk en época medieval. Una calle central de mercadeo comunicada con númerosos callejones, idénticos a este, cada uno dominado por diferentes comerciantes pertencientes a diferentes gremios.

Es evidente que con el cambio de los tiempos esto ha cambiado, pero en el centro de Falkirk todavía podemos apreciar algunos buenos ejemplos como es el caso. En la actualidad estos callejones han sido reformados creando espacios de ocio social, como teterias, cafeterias y negocios similares que tienen mucho encanto, al encontrarse en pleno centro pero a la misma vez apartado del mismo.


Un gran ejemplo de como conservar y explotar estructuras típicas de la ciudad conservando los elementos básicos originales que le proporcionan una personalidad propia. A ver si cunde el ejemplo (en Stirling por ejemplo).
