Estando dentro de la Ciudad...

Estando dentro de la Ciudad Universitaria, aproveché a pasar por la zona donde esta ubicado el histórico Estadio Alfonso López, nombrado en honor del presidente Alfonso Lopez Pumarejo. Por el presidente Eduardo Santos, quien quiso resaltar el apoyo y esfuerzo que hizo el gobierno de Alfonso Lopez para llevar a cabo la construcción de la Universidad.

El conjunto fue proyectado por el arquitecto Leopoldo Rother, y durante las décadas de los años 30 y 40, fue uno de los principales escenarios que albergó importantes eventos deportivos, entre los cuales destacan los juegos bolivarianos de 1938.


También fue sede de los dos equipos locales de la ciudad: Santa Fe y Millonarios, y aquí se celebraron los primeos encuentros universitarios, entre otros.

Desde el año 2007, el estadio es la sede del Bogotá Fútbol Club.

Esta catalogado como Patrimonio y Monumento Nacional.
